Faro Airport Transfers to Lagos
Searching for Faro Airport Transfers to Lagos?
Known as the ‘Pearl of the Algarve‘ this beautiful city stretches across an elongated bay.
Lagos is also known as the city where Portuguese marine journeys of discovery began and there are many reminders of the beginnings of this ‘golden epoch’. Over the years the city ( population of 30,000 ) has been able to retain its unique charm , which is clearly discernible in the old city.
In the historical center within the city walls are a maze of alleyways with cafes, shops, bars and restaurants. But it is not only the romantics that are in their element in this city.
The nightlife is hip, the beaches are divine and the coast offers the best conditions for all kinds of water sport. The Marina provides additional activity because sailors use it as a pit stop ahead of the long ‘Columbus Voyage’ to the Canaries or Cape Verde and then on to the Caribbean.
What to eat in Lagos?
Although affordable authentic Portuguese restaurants may be hard to come by in Lagos, there is no shortage of pizzerias and restaurants serving traditional Mediterranean cuisine. Lagos is full of restaurants and good food, you can’t miss the fresh fish, eating in ,the hardest part it’s to find where to eat.
Here it’s what we think, the best restaurants in Lagos:

- Cachoa – A nice ambiance, great vibe, international cuisine with a Mediterranean flair.
Stretching out to the eas of Lagos is the Meia Praia – this vast sandy beach goes on for kilometres, curving all the way to the Ria de Alvor. Surfers, kite surfers and winsurfers alike love the surf that you get here.
However in summer it does tend to become very windy in the afternoon. Directly alongside the harbor fort is where the beaches of the Ponta da Piedade begin from Praia Dona Ana ( award for on of the best beaches in the world! ) – a favorite and very busy because of its unique rocks to Praia do Camilo.
To the west of the Ponta da Piedade lies Porto Mós, a small bay surrounded by cliffs with a beautiful beach near to Luz. In Praia da Luz the beaches are wide and sandy and very popular. Beautiful, quiet beaches can be found further along the coast if you heard in the direction of Sagres from Burgau.
